Why is Student Pro so cheap?
Because we're built for international students, and €5/month is roughly the price of one coffee a week. If Aula saves you on a single exam, it pays for itself for a year.
What if I don't want a subscription?
Buy the Lifetime plan — €129 one-time, every Pro feature, no subscription ever. A bring-your-own-API-key option (Groq, OpenAI, Anthropic) is coming for power users; until it lands, inference is on us.
Does Aula work in person, or only on Zoom?
Both. Aula captures your microphone for in-person lectures, and your system audio for Zoom, Teams, Google Meet, or any browser tab. The lecturer doesn't need to install anything.
Will my audio leave my laptop?
On Free and Pro plans, transcription and translation happen in the cloud (encrypted in transit, never stored). On Enterprise, you get on-device privacy mode — nothing leaves your machine. Required for FERPA / GDPR / HIPAA buyers.
Where do my transcripts and study packs live?
On your Mac. Everything stays local — click Library → Export for a backup, or turn on iCloud Drive sync in Library and your library follows you across all your Macs. We don't keep your transcripts on our servers.
Do I need to create an account?
No signup form, no password. When you subscribe, we email an activation link to the address you paid with — click it once on each Mac and you're in. New Mac or lost the email? In the app, Settings → Activate re-sends it.
Can I get a refund?
Yes — 14-day no-questions-asked refund on every paid plan, including Lifetime. Subscriptions also start with a 14-day free trial, so you only pay once you've decided it's worth it. Just reply to any Aula email.
